About the Artist

I am Yadav Utkar, an artist based in in the city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India

Born on 3 Jan 1952, I studied upto SSC, however, I did not attend any formal Drawing college. All my work is a result of my passion and dedication to Art.

Since the Ajanta Caves paintings were done almost 2200 years before, all of their colors have become rare or faint. To keep these colors updated and fresh, I have spent years researching these paintings so that my creations can match up to the originals.

​

My research has included the original color tones, angles of nose, eyes, lips, body anatomy, clothing, jewellery, culture, etc. As a result, my paintings reflect the proper color mixing and exact proportions, so that each creation is sharp, crisp, clear and perfect. These creations are portrayed in oil on canvas or water colors.

A few of these paintings are ready and a few are a work in progress.
